Anyway, here's Feathers Boa the very fine and sensitive artist whose work you see all over the metaverse. On Facebook, she posted a note to say she is leaving the Caerleon Sims after being there for two years, not to mention being one of the founding artists over there: such a happy interaction coming to an end. Turns out it's all to do with the new adult continent Zindra. "Read the blogs, it's all over the blogs," she said.
Hmm, there were all kinds of well heeled people whining about tier and protected land and prim counts and I get enough of that sort of talk in RL, however, one can see why Feathers is so frustrated by the changes happening. It seems the new continent will be a sort of 'naughty ghetto' where all the adult-themed builds will be located, and access will be limited to those who have provided age-verification information to LL. As a newbie that kind of thing scared me, but now it's that anyone might think me too young to see rude bits, plus if you've been to Battery Street, or eaten lunch at at Il Fornaio mmm at a table next to a bunch of LL geeks, you'll be aware they're out to evilly control the world, not even the metaworld. Having said that, with the incredible detail of textures and graphics now available in SL, I can see why artists like Feathers are concerned that their photo-realistic expressions of the human form are going to get swept into the Zindra continent, in what amounts to artistic censorship. it would be horrible not see Feathers' lovely handiwork all over SL any more. As for the raw and deeply emotive expressions of some of the toughest moments in her life, like the ones curently on show at the Forbidden Feathers exhibit, well, they'll be worth making the trip to Zindra to see. For now you can TP to her Gallery and see for yourself this genuinely moving material.

Protection and censorship, that's too big and RL for me...
And now for something completely different: Aquila Faulds says that on Tuesday June 30 at 10 pm Italian time (that's 1 pm SLT) they're having a Vishudda at the Virtual Gallery at Merkaba Arts. It involves a choral embrace and new age music. Google chakra on your own dime. Laragrace Rau and Aquila Faulds' art is always worth a view and if you like Italians, and dream dancing also, showing up might be the beginning of something new and exciting.
Another event you might like to be a part of is the poetry competition at Agora Saturnia. It's a joint venture of L'ARME D'AMOUR and Teo Porta's group, Italiani di SL contro la caccia. In light of the Cheyenne Cherry story it seems a particularly good cause to support right now. If you can write in Italian, sign up by getting in touch with Viola Tatham before 10 July 2009. Poems must be original, unpublished, in Italian and no longer than 21 lines and on a theme related to animals and animal welfare, the jury on July 17 will award L4000, L3000, and L2000 to the first second and third placed winners respectively. You can contact Viola or torno Kohime of Agora Saturnia for more details.
Here lastly, is a video of the King Tut exhibit. If you didn't go yet you should hurry over there to King's Rezzable. As a good friend commented when we visited together, it's not good. It's meraviglioso. See the Rezzable website for more.
