Parco Cristina

I tp'd over to Yellow today, just thought I'd check in on fellow ArtsParkian ramon123 Babenco. Parco Cristina is an Italian poetry park built by ramon123 and dedicated to his work, and well worth the visit, just for the arm-wrestling alone. When I arrived we found Silvia Rumpler reading some of ramon's verses in 'deserto' one of seven areas in the park representing various states of the human condition. Silvia, who was completely taken with the poems she read, very sweetly asked if it was OK to be there, and in fact the park has a charming domesticity to it, almost like a private garden on a summer's day, with a treehouse and various gazebos, and a meeting area laid out rather like a picnic.

A literary buffet one might say.

Sienese poet and teacher, ramon123 is a fan of Moravia and Kafka, especially Moravia's attitude towards problem solving: do nothing. A resident and, as he puts it, observer of inworld life since June, ramon's initial skepticism towards SL has given place to enthusiasm for the way it allows one to express thoughts and feelings without the barriers of timidity or convention often felt in the real world. We all see the same things differently, the beauty of the metaverse is that there are an infinite number of ways to share our joys and pain, so shout out our feelings of injustice, love, or anguish. Poetry, he told me, helps us put our feelings out there for others to share and observe in a way mere words alone cannot do.
The seven areas of Parco Cristina - 7 being a mystical number - include coyote, melancholy, joy, soul and desert; each touches on aspects of the poetry on display, which can be found in the four volumes are currently on sale. You will also find ramon's work available in his reading room on the Europe City sim, which has its grand opening this evening.

Uno spazio grazioso, non manca nulla, c'e persino un tavolo per giocare a braccio di ferro; presente anche Silvia Rumpler seduta nella zona deserto, leggeva con molta attenzione i versi e ha fatto molti complimenti a ramon; aveva paura d'essersi intromessa in un posto riservato, e in effetti il bel parco ha l'aria di giardino privato in un pomeriggio d'estate con tanto di casetta sull'albero, gazebo e la zona incontri disposto quasi come un luogo da picnic.

Un buffet letterario, all'aria aperta.

Poeta e insegnante senese, appassionato di Kafka, ramon 123 è anche moraviano. "Moravia dice che i problemi sono di chi se li crea," mi disse, "Non è un vanto risolverli io adoro non risolvere i problemi e lasciarli." Residente in SL da giugno, ramon si autodefinisce osservatore della vita; inizialmente scettico nei confronti del 'gioco' ora lo considera un mezzo per esprimere i propri sentimenti e pensieri in modo più accessibile e meno nozionistico di quanto sia possibile nella vita reale. "Il parco uguale alla mia poesia," mi disse. "Ebbene si la tristezza, la gioia, il dubbio, il dolore, e sopratutto il desiderio di arrivare con la poesia là dove le sole parole non possono arrivare. Infatti con la poesia si può superare le barriere che separano e si può dare una sensazione più vera della realtà."
