kindly scroll down for the English version...
Come te forse, disprezzo le bombe e chi le tira. A Bagdad come a Bologna, a New Delhi come a New York, gli attentati portano nulla di buono. Far saltare persone e palazzi crea rancore, vite spezzate, macerie, e non risolve nulla. Basti pensare a Gaza e i dintorni, all'Irlanda del Nord.
I giovani congiurati, Thomas Wintour, Robert Catesby, Thomas Percy, Jack Wright e Guy (o Guido, come preferiva farsi chiamare) Fawkes, decisero di agire.

Bombe a parte.

*******

Words will always retain their power.

The Wachowski brothers

Terrorism, I think you'll agree, stinks. From Baghdad to Bologna, from New Delhi to New York, blowing up people buildings creates mess, grief, and rancour, Bombs resolve nothing: ask the people of Gaza and the surrounding area. Or Northern Ireland. So why then does the character V for Vendetta appeal so much? He is, after all, a killer, a bomber, a terrorist. A lonely figure living in the remains of Victoria Station in a dystopian London ruled over by the hated far right Norsefire party, V fights against the twin forces of evil and paralysing apathy; a fight he seems destined to lose, as he plays out a story which often lacks logic or coherence. Perhaps it is this that draws us to him, his imperfect existence behind the flawless mask which, along with his eloquent words, make us feel for him, and allow us the luxury of hope, of belief in the human spirit, and the spirit of the woman at his side.

If you don't know the plot of the film, which in turn is an adaptation of the 10 issue graphic novel by David Lloyd with pictures by Alan Moore, follow this link (spoiler alert!!). The story was written in the 80's in the heyday of Margaret Thatcher, who had declared there was 'no such thing as society' and the depressing certainty of the Iron Lady's policies seeps out of the story, although of course Norsefire's violent and evil schemes recall rather darker times than even Thatcher could have planned. Britain in the grip of fear is now ruled and misruled by those who offer a certain level of security in return for obedience: 'strength through unity' is their watchword. Dangerous terms, against which one man fights, refusing to accept his place in the climate of fear and conformity; he calls himself V.

In SL you can find a V for vendetta group, the founder is RL and SL photographer Aisha Yost. here's a photo of her at her studio on sim Zhora Bay - she fitted it out with the V logo for the occasion of my visit. Her company is called Digital Artestry Studio and her new place looks like it's going to be fabulous. Check her out on Flickr too, and the dropshots website. She told me the group is a new one, and there are already more than 40 members - so new that she hasn't yet had time to meet everyone. Aisha is into RP in SL - other roles she favours are Ada Wong from Final Fantasy and Trinity from the Matrix - like the screenplay for V for Vendetta, the product of the Wachowski brothers. I invited her over to my version of V's "Shadow gallery" on sim Arginutti you're welcome to drop by, like most things I do it's 50% finished... where does the time go?... and we took a couple of pictures. I asked her why she had thought of making a V for Vendetta group.

Aisha Yost: I love the character. He is a beautiful person, and the things he says...

The textures you see in these pictures are taken from stills of the film, with some random furniture added just to make it a little more comfortable. I added piles of paintings and books to give the sense of V's incessant struggle to save artwork from destruction by the politicians and their minions. Art is always one of the first and most tragic victims of dictatorship; the totalitarian mentality cannot allow its existence, since art invites differing points of view, encourages ambiguity and challenges one's intellect and spirituality. As V puts it, a world has been brought into existence where once people "had the freedom to think and speak as they saw fit, such freedoms are now curtailed by censors and cameras. Whose fault is this?" The people's own fault: they have traded freedom for a sense of security. "The myriad problems of modern society conspired to corrupt the reason and rob people of their common sense. " Their sense of taste, whatever that might be. De gustibus non est disputandum.

V puts much emphasis on the 5th of November, easily Britain's most intollerant popular holiday (if you're not familiar with the ins and outs of it, here's a site to fill you in) . It's a festival of fireworks and the burning in effigy of Guy Fawkes (in Horsham it's the Pope who ends up on the bonfire). Back in 1600, life for English Catholics was far from easy. For over half a century, they had been weighed down by fines for not attending the Anglican church services. Catholic priests lived in hiding, those that protected them risked death or imprisonment. Young Catholic men couldn't go to university or pursue a career in government, since for most good jobs one had to be willing to swear the oath of allegiance to the Queen, something forbidden by the Pope. The new king James, had hinted heavily that he would review the plight of the 'pious loyal Catholics"; his mother and wife were both Catholics (Anne converted in private some time between 1600-1603). Since the French King had recently decided that Paris was worth a Mass, it seemed possible that real change was possible, and that life would improve. It did not.

In 1603 young conspirators including Thomas Wintour, Robert Catesby, Thomas Percy, Jack Wright and Guy Fawkes decided that something should be done. The idea to blow up the King in the first day of the new Parliament was Catesby's, but Guy (he preferred to be called Guido) was chosen to be the - what to call him? suicide bomber? - the one who would actually detonate the explosives smuggled in under the Hall (not the palace with big Ben, that's from the 1800's). So it was that Guy became the figure we all remember, creeping around alone in the cellars, preparing to change the world with a big bang. For V, he is the voice in the wilderness, the lonely figure of avenging good: "More than 400 years ago a great citizen wished to imprint the 5th of November forever in our memory. his hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice and freedom are more than words, they are perspectives..."

What perspective does V have on the world? He wishes to defend ideas and art, but does so by hiding it in his secret lair away from the eyes of all, in the damp confines of the abandoned Victoria Station. Who is this 'man of the people' who hides behind a mask, while unmasking the evil in the world, desperately trying to save the same people he explicitly blames for the predicament of the country. His task is as impossible as it is fragmented. The destruction of one set of bullies does not preclude the rise of another set, and another and another. V's solution, that the country unites against the forces of evil rings much like the slogan of the neofascist party "strength through unity". That word unity offers as many interpretations and shades of meaning that it easily confounds other enriching concepts such as choice, independent thought, personal taste, and diverging opinion. Like all works of art, the figure of V presents more questions than it does answers; it makes us reflect on our own values, our own responses to the types of intollerance and injustice portrayed in the film. Rather than waste time shaking one's head over the stupidity of politicians, we are able to loook inward and question our own courage, our own contribution to the general wellbeing of those around us, and to ask if we are doing, in our own small way, the 'right' thing.

"There is," says V paraphrasing Hamlet,"Something terribly wrong with this country". Like the Danish Prince, V is a hero both flawed and floored by the enormity of his task, so overwhelmed by it that he cannot do anything but pursue his one goal, for revenge. Even his love for Evie cannot really help him, there is no question of the two of them escaping to a better life together elsewhere. Even his final scenes in the film show the impotence of his power: it is Evie who deals the final blow on Norsefire, just as it is Evie in the comic who steps up and, dressed in one of V's spare costumes, brings to an end his plan of revenge. Finche, the journalist, asks Evie a simple yet essential question: "Who really was V?" As she looks out at the fireworks mixed with the explosion of buildings on the horizon, her answer begins in ambiguity, "He was Edmond Dantes, and he was my father. He was my mother, my brother, my friend. He was you, and he was me, he was all of us."

V's invitation to fight against the forces of totalitarianism, to respect and protect rather than dominate and destroy the human spirit, is an echo of another great cinematographic speeh, that of Charlie Chaplin in The Great Dictator: "We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that." Ahh.

If you'd like to be part of the V experience in Second Life, you can pick up a copy of the costume at Mutant Lives or at The Prisoner-themed The Village on sim Dolphin Island: $L 200 buys you the transformation you seek. Poses can be found to go with the cloak and mask, for example here on SLX. The bombs you'll have to find for yourself.

What You Will

It is an ancient Mariner,
And he stoppeth one of three.
Coleridge, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner
The one of three today: Tidd Kidd, writer, mentor and (in this case) innocent passerby, and it was a she, as in me, but despite my lack of beard and, you may say, interesting tale, I still qualify; I have the albatross to prove it. But more of that in a minute.
Last year, on at least a dozen occasions, I've been over to the 4 sims of sLiterary, with the idea of writing about the Globe Theatre, Shakespeare in SL and the lit scene over there in general, without ever getting anything on-screen. In part, because, frankly, it's a pretty intimidating place, with lots of reminders about how professional they all are, but mostly because of the lag. "There are several Globe theatres in SL, this is the Globe you're looking for", I think that's how creator Ina Centaur puts it in her picks, and perhaps she's right. The sims are Shakespeare, Skins City, Primtings and sLiterary, and they contain all kinds of Shakespearean and non-Shakespearean bookish goodies including two versions of the Globe theatre, the 'old' Globe, in the picture at the top of this post, is an early but very good version (and is available for hire btw). Here you see me with Tidd Kidd on the stage of the newer, fancier version, next door on sim sLiterary. It is currently hosting the SL Shakespeare Player's production of Twelfth Night. - don't miss their website. Just Act 1 of Twelfth Night, which I suspect you'll agree is plenty for one sitting in SL. The theater seems to be built right over the point where sims meet, and this can cause you to lose hair and stuff, there's a sign warning of the inconvenience, but no sign they plan to move the theatre to escape the problem: perhaps like the RL London Globe it's built on the 'actual site' and can't be moved for archeological reasons. Here's the interior. Lots of nice red cushions on the wooden benches, no slumming it here. Worth a look are the drawings (I'm guessing set and costume sketches from previous productions) located in the 'backs'. You can see a picture of them down in the Italian bit.
It is all very snowy still here, giving Anne Hathaway's cottage a rather more of a Midwest than Midlands feel, I missed trees; Warwickshire or Westminster, you need trees to tell the story of Shakespeare I think, and the half-timbered commercial area is very nice though empty, but perhaps it's early days for the sim. Gotta be careful what I say, they don't mess about here, as you can see...Another interesting piece of architecture is Blackfriars: part of a Dominican monastery in the heart of London, it was converted into a theatre around the turn of the 17th century. Shakespeare became part owner of the establishment. Unlike the Globe, Blackfriars was an indoor theatre with artificial lighting and on the whole a better clientele - tickets here cost twice those of its more famous sister. This is the interior, for the outside see the churchy building in the Italian part below. At the Globe 'proper' I met up with the aforementioned Tidd Kidd. I asked her what she thought of the build.

Tidd Kidd: It's a very big build. This is my first visit here, I got a LM and came over to take a look. I have three avies on at the same time, so that's probably why I have so much lag. "Friends, Romans, and people in my list who I can't now remember how you got there..." "Romeo, Romeo, wherefore lag thou Romeo?" she quipped. Well, we were on stage. I confided that I didn't think it had anything to do with running three avies at once, since I was having similar problems. Perhaps the greatest tribute to Ina's work is that the lag did not scare us away. We admired the many posters, showing Ina Centaur's various creations in makeup, costumes and skins. She certainly is an artist.
Tidd Kidd: "Yon Cassius, has a lean and laggy look"
Thirza Ember: stabbed by a dozen broken scripts, perhaps...
The Globe is definitely worth a visit, or even several. If you go to a performance, get there nice and early to give yourself plenty of time to rez. Before the show, Enniv Zarf generally plays the piano live, so you won't be bored. Enniv is a real life actor in Los Angeles, and a teacher at Active Actors Inc. He also offers SL voice acting classes at his institution SLSC Academy of Performing Arts in this lovely old hall also on sim Shakespeare. If you're feeling the rising wave of would-be thespianism in your breast, or elsewhere, an yet feel you lack the speaking voice for SL, you can sign up for classes at the door.

One last thing, as Colombo used to say; I kept going back, trying to find my way around, and serendipitously ended up on sim Primtings. There was a sign, and I touched it. Here in part is what the notecard said:

"Primtings Museum is a sim-sized art gallery dedicated to primmed paintings - a.k.a. primtings. Its goal is inspired by the famous William Saroyan quote, "The role of art is to make a world which can be inhabited."
A primting is an interactive exploration of a famous piece of RL art brought to life in the form of 3d prims. This can take on various different forms, such as a 3d recreation or extension of a famous RL artwork or... In its most awesome extent, you can walk into it.
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: The basic idea is to find an RL painting or other famous art piece that sufficiently inspires you to create a distinctive inworld version of it. There's no size limit, and no prim limit. Acceptance to the Gallery, however, is competitive. Contact Curator-Patron Ina Centaur once you've a prototype."

How very cool. Here are a couple of examples of the sort of thing she's looking for.Nine spots are open for nine artists whose work brings RL art into the metaverse. For more details, rules and all the practicalities, go over to Primtings and pick up the note, or contact Ina in person.

Crossing Lines: Yaia Nishi at Tanalois

Gentle reader, today it is your turn to scroll down to the English bit 'cos apparently it's not PC to always put the anglo half of the post first.... go on, it's only a few inches...

The most truthful part of a newspaper is its advertisements.

New York Times Magazine this week published an article you should read: it's about artist and entrepreneur (I mean he actually sells art in this economic climate) called Filthy Fluno. Yes, that's right, the NYT talking about a Second Life artist: well, to be fair, he's a RL artist who uses SL to expand his market. Sex sells, and the opening paragraphs make you wonder where all this is going, but on the whole, the article has a positive bias toward the metaverse, not your usual mocking confusionary prose, probably because the writer Sara Corbett has her own avatar, Marshmella Muggins. Feel free to bug her with offers of friendship, I certainly plan to do so. (BTW, Someone should tell Americans who 'muggins' is, or would that spoil our fun.)
Anyway, Filthy has had far more than his share of free publicity, and there are many fantastic artists who have imported real talent and concrete work from one life to the other, which brings us to Yaia Nishi.
Yaia is 22 years old, an art student at the Accademia delle Belle Arti di Napoli, (this is her in normal form and you'll also see her dressed as the figure on the bus in some of the other photos) . The art she's brought into SL represents her academic life - the pictures were all part of her school work. I really liked the drawings at the beginning of the exhibition, they're portraits of the RL faces behind many of Yaia's SL friends. Keep walking around the exhibit at Tanalois and you'll see her historical costume collection, again work prepared for an exam. Yaia is obviously very talented at drawing, but her first love is sewing and when she graduates she'd really like to become a costume designer. Another interesting part of the exhibit is the 'mummy on the bus', as I like to call it, a piece of street art, a person-package being carried by the whim and wisdom of the bus driver.... inspired by the process of commuting - yes, they commute, even in Naples.
Finally, don't miss the Cheeky Squirrel exhibit. It has something of Wallace and Gromit about it. Here Yaia has used SL to illustrate the libretto of an operetta for children, Lo scoiattolo in gamba. Written by Eduardo de Filippo, the story was inspired by an essay by his daughter Laura. It's a fairy story about a squirrel who loses his teeth, and can't eat his acorn. He meets and the King, who gives the squirrel a set of golden dentures and hires him to work as cook in the Royal Kitchen. Like all good squirrel stories, and kitchen stories, things go comically wrong. De Filippo's libretto was set to music by another great Italian Nino Rota (think The Godfather, as well as the soundtracks of the films of Fellini and Zeffirelli). It will be performed for children at the Academy of St. Cecilia in Rome during the last weekend in March. Yaia's RL professor Vallifuoco designed the sets for this production, and Yaia's Second Life pictures will be projected under the stage to create a multi-media effect, and help the children follow the story as it unfolds, bringing SL into the world of Fine Art once again, where it so richly deserves to be.
Go to Rome and see the show at Santa Cecilia, or, alternatively, stay home and pop over to see Yaia's exhibition at Tanalois all month long, along with a new exhibition by Feathers Boa (see below) and of course turn on the sound to catch the wonderful jazz that makes Gemini Isle so cool.

Art of love: volando Amat's SL Porto Cervo

SL Porto Cervo is one of the more enduring of SL's Italian art sims. Where so many have come and gone, this sim, themed loosely around the famous Sardinian resort town with a quirky style and mixture of shops, performance spaces and artwork, has survived thanks entirely to the enthusiasm and tenacity of its owner, volando Amat. Volando has a sweet, self-deprecating manner easy to underestimate; SL Porto Cervo is a tribute to her quiet determination to create in SL something other than the sum of her parts. It's a place that attracts in many cases an older crowd, and the gentle atmosphere encourages raw experimentation including short first-attempt machinima like this one. I asked her how Porto Cervo has survived, and what she sees as the most important part of her sojourn in SL.
volando Amat: I've been here in SL for over two years now. Our little world occupies a non-specific corner of this marvelous metaverse. Our goal is to create a place that is avatar -friendly, a place in continual development and flux, adapting to the changing needs of our residents. That means we're always busy making changes. We want to make a place of dreams and discover, exploration and experimentation. A place to get to know one's self and others, in a pleasing and intelligent atmosphere. It hasn't always been easy, there have been obstacles to overcome. We removed the camping area, and that upset a lot of people, a sort of camping mafia really had a problem with that; the sex side of SL I won't even mention. We eventually suspended the competitions in the disco, which also made a lot of people unhappy. The disco is an important element in Porto Cervo, it creates a venue for nightlife, for social events, and prevents the sim from becoming one of those magnificent desolate places of which there are already so many in SL. We still have a range of competitions and contests, including Miss Porto Cervo - held in recent days - but we stopped allowing the "quickie TP for a vote" - another less-than-popular decision. It's surprising how upset people get over this kind of thing. My philosophy springs from this idea: 'How much does it cost me to play here?' rather than: 'How much money can I make off others here?' and luckily I've encountered a lot of like-minded people.
I really wanted to create a place where people could ask themselves : Am I the same person within the game as I am in real life? Mirroring ourselves within SL, do we become better people? Kicca Igaly's sculpture in the central square of Porto Cervo really sums this up, it's a human figure - or an avatar? - flying between the real and the virtual world, caught permanently in the limnal space that defines us. As far as I am concerned, SL Porto Cervo exists to serve the community, and anyone who has something creative they'd like to share, and needs space in which to do it, is welcome to come here and be a part of our experience. What is there to see in SL Porto Cervo? A number of different attractions await. There's the theater dedicated to artist and performer Ipazia Cortez. There's a gallery dedicated to the sculptures of Maryva Mayo - many of her works will be distributed around the sim in the coming weeks, so you can admire them as you shop or simply soak in the atmosphere of the narrow streets and squares. There's the villa on the hill containing the love poems of the Latin writer Catullus (quick confession, it's my own contribution to Porto Cervo but based on an original design by Max Aabye.) Not to be missed, the ark in the bay, and the free helicopter rides that allow you to take in the newest part of Porto Cervo, the alpine region. Much of the cultural life of Porto Cervo is connected with writing and book publication. On a nearby rooftop, the bar area will soon be the venue for a presentation by Giovanna Delphin and her group Turisti per caso (more of them in a later post). Last but certainly not least, up on the mountain you'll find the area dedicated to Sardinian folksinger Andrea Parodi whose tragic death makes this beautiful song all the more poignant.

Gabrielle Riel: Reeling in the years

I like radio more than TV: the pictures are so much better.
Anonymous
I met Gabrielle Riel proprietor and genie behind SL's premier radio station Radio Riel on a bridge in sim Edison Hypatia. At least the bridge was there when I first arrived. It took me a good long while to rez, and poke my nose around, inspecting the buildings, and suddenly I was at the bottom of the sea.
Thirza Ember: Did I touch something I wasn't supposed to? I have a long history of that!
Gabrielle Riel: When you click the bridge it swings open to let ships through.
Thirza Ember: Lol oh ok, sorry.
Gabrielle Riel grins - np. She put the bridge back, and then told me all about the sim.
Gabrielle Riel: The theme here is 1890 - 1920 - North central North America, by which I mean the upper midwest- Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana - and Ontario, Canada. My RL background is what inspired this theme: the river here and the bluffs on either side. I am from Michigan, and live only an hour from Canada. I am so pleased with how it turned out.
As the sim gradually rezzed, the buildings came into view, and I saw ...snow on the ground!
Gabrielle Riel: Yes, no grass until March 21 :-)
Looking around it was obvious that a lot of thought had gone into planning and constructing the sim, so I asked, how long did the build take?
Gabrielle Riel: Hmm... This was actually an existing sim; it used to be Greek Isle theme and had existing tenants...so there were several weeks of transition. It took about 4 weeks but I waited a little longer, because I knew some tenants would leave. I terraformed "manually" - I did not use a .raw file. Instead, I created the landscape on another empty sim and then saved it as a raw file. I put a lot of thought into the topography, and also how I would lay out parcels. The whole east side of the river through the sim is mostly residential, but Edison Corners is our commercial area with a gallery, a clothing store, and the HQ of Radio Riel. I wanted to stay true to a midwestern community, and I knew I could recreate that "look" with large parcels (2048 or bigger), giving a sense of wide-open space, just like we have here.
I owned an Open Space sim for two years - Caledon Carntaigh, where I had I had a huge manor, a little village, stables. I put a lot of work into creating a "look" there: looking back, that was really my training - 2 years with an Open Space sim made all the difference. This is the first time I took on a full sim like this. I share the sim with many friends. The majority of the residents here are associated with Radio Riel in one form or fashion. Two of my Presenters have lots here, my business manager, 2 of the Radio Riel Players, and our Storyteller.
Making it a 'riel' community in every way, I said, because I'm a punster even when they're not funny.
Gabrielle Riel nodded. That was my goal. I also hope to serve "fans", listeners, by giving them a place to spend time inworld. Places like this exist for communities of people, otherwise they become empty, meaningless lots. They draw together like-minded people. Look at me, I am here because 3 years ago I stumbled onto Caledon. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
As we walked along the East side of the river, Gabrielle told me about her radio station.
Gabrielle Riel: The story of Radio Riel - In the Fall of 2006, I had decided I wanted to be a DJ in Second Life, but not a "typical" DJ....I wanted to play Classical music in The Independent State of Caledon. It wasn't something I had done in RL; I had planned music for parties - big ones - like wedding showers and weddings, but I had never been a "DJ".
Thirza Ember: So what was your first performance like? Do you remember it?
Gabrielle Riel: Oh yes - clearly! I played a "music only" event in July of 2006 but my first REAL, live, with-voice event was Caledon's Halloween Ball 2006. I was so scared, I thought I would sound stupid, but at the same time, I was exhilarated. I hoped people would like the Classical music, and they did! I had a lot of compliments, and I got a lot of support from the Caledon organizers. When Christmas rolled around I was immediately enlisted in holiday planning, with the assumption I would handle music. No more quiet Miss Gabrielle Riel :-)
Thirza Ember: So at first it was more a DJ job.... how did that turn into a radio station?
Gabrielle Riel: It was wild! In January 2007, the idea hit me one day that Caledon could probably use its own radio station, and I knew I had a music library big enough to play something for a few hours a day, every day. I was a big fan of T1 Radio in SL, and I knew it was possible to do something like that, but in a Caledon flavor. At the same time people started approaching me, people that had been RL DJs, and who said "Can I work with you?" It's like people just appeared and said: "Lead us"! That is what is so funny, all of my people have RL professional experience. Of the four "founders" 2 were club DJs, 1 was a College radio DJ... and then me - with no "RL" experience! It came very naturally, I think, my brain thinks like a broadcaster.
I wondered what sort of technical know-how was needed to actually make a radio station work.
Gabrielle Riel: I would say a fair amount... although I went on Google and figured it all out myself and I have trained everyone that has come to me with the exception of my Presenter who has been a RL Audio Engineer for 35 years. My RL professional background is software training - I knew I could figure it out on my own.
Having listened to Radio Riel both inworld and online while in RL, I had to compliment Gabrielle on the easy quality of her broadcasts. The wonderful mix of both presenters and music must be a good fit for all kinds of sims, not just Caledon sims.
She nodded. That is really our goal, to appeal to ALL of the 19th century sims as well as classical music lovers.
She took me to see the HQ building.
Gabrielle Riel: As you can see, it is a wonderful build, created by my Presenter Edward Pearse: he's used inspiration from his own career, but I also specified that I really wanted an Edwardian feel, which has come off very well I think. The presenters use the little studio, and this is the "public" area. Every Thursday night we have Riel Radio Theatre and Riel 80s Mewsic here at HQ and from time to time we have dances on the roof.
Gabrielle Riel: Yes, I will show you my new adopted babies! Wait here and I'll TP you...
Bienvenue a la Nouvelle Toulouse ! This is based on New Orleans - 1890 - 1920; it's such the perfect counterpart to Edison - now I have the North and the South! I 'adopted' this sim, and its connecting sim (New Toulouse Algiers). They were built 9 months ago by Carricre Wind. She was no longer able to manage them, so she put them up for sale. I had not planned on more sims, but I did not want to see this community die; and, of course, what is New Orleans known for? Music! (well other things too!) I saw this as a perfect fit with Radio Riel. If you turn on your parcel music you will hear "Radio Riel - New Toulouse" a dedicated stream to this community. So we have our Main stream, which is 24/7, then there's our events stream - for events - and now RR-NT, 24/7. These sims are stunning; I can not claim any credit for their look and feel, other than the music, which we've tried to make a perfect fit with the rest of the place.
If she were going to create a house or a park that celebrated an artist or writer, something for people to come and visit here in New Toulouse, who would it be? Gabrielle Riel thinks : Hmm Here in New Toulouse...probably William Faulkner. He wrote about the American South, in the era that NT represents, so he'd be a good fit.

* * * * *
Thirza Ember: Lol oh ok, sorry.
Gabrielle Riel: Hmm... fammi pensare.
Bhe qui a New Toulouse, direi William Faulkner.
